Corps of Engineers to Host Meeting on Lock 25 Expansion With Area Residents and Community Members
ST. LOUIS, Missouri, Oct. 10 -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-St. Louis District issued the following news release:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, will host a meeting to provide additional information on the new 1,200-foot lock at Lock and Dam 25. The meeting will be held at Winfield City Hall, 51 Harry's Way, Winfield, Missouri, Oct. 29, from 5-7 p.m.
Formal presentations will occur at 5 p.m., after which project team members will be available to provide information,

WASHINGTON, Oct. 9 -- The U.S. Department of Defense's Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency issued the following news release:
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced today that Merchant Marine Wiper Elvis N. Spotts, 18, of Kansas City, Missouri, killed during World War II, was accounted for on Sept. 13, 2018.

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri, Oct. 10 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri issued the following news release on Oct. 9, 2024:
Fifteen more defendants have been indicted by a federal grand jury for their roles in a drug-trafficking conspiracy after law enforcement officers seized 100 pounds of methamphetamine and a kilogram of fentanyl pills hidden in a vehicle being transported from San Bernadino, Cal. to Springfield, Mo.

KANSAS CITY, Missouri, Oct. 10 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri issued the following news release on Oct. 9, 2024:
A Belton, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court today for leading a drug-trafficking conspiracy and for illegally possessing a firearm.

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri, Oct. 10 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri issued the following news release on Oct. 9, 2024:
A Republic, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court for illegally possessing fentanyl to distribute and several firearms following two instances in which he fled from law enforcement officers.
