SECNAV Del Toro Names Future Nuclear-Powered Attack Submarine USS Atlanta (SSN 813)
WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 -- The U.S. Navy issued the following news release:
ATLANTA (Oct 23, 2024) Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro announced that the future Virginia-class Nuclear-Powered Attack Submarine SSN 813 will be named USS Atlanta. Del Toro made the announcement during a ship naming ceremony at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum, in Atlanta, on Oct. 23.
The future USS Atlanta honors the city of Atlanta, and the crews of the five previous Navy vessels named Atlanta.

Va. U.S. Attorney: Alexandria Fentanyl Dealer Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison
ALEXANDRIA, Virginia, Oct. 24 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia issued the following news release on Oct. 23, 2024:
An Alexandria man was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in prison for selling counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl.
According to court documents, from at least February to April 2024, Alhagi Gassim Conteh, 30, obtained nearly 4,000 counterfeit oxycodone pills imprinted with "M30," but which contained fentanyl, and distributed them.

Va. U.S. Attorney: Former CBP IT Employee Pleads Guilty to Stealing and Attempting to Sell 27 Government Computers
ALEXANDRIA, Virginia, Oct. 24 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia issued the following news release on Oct. 23, 2024:
A Bristow man pled guilty today to theft of government property.
According to court documents, from at least Nov. 6, 2023, to Aug. 1, 2024, Xavier Mittakarin, 38, was an employee for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), assigned to a CBP facility in Lorton where 27 U.S. government laptop computers were stored.
