Washington Commission Suspends PacifiCorp Rate Hike, Citing Public Interest Concerns

LACEY, Washington, April 19 -- The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (WUTC) has issued an order suspending proposed tariff revisions filed by PacifiCorp d/b/a Pacific Power and Light Company that would have increased customer rates by approximately $33.9 million, or 7.9 percent. The order, dated today, indicates the Commission's concern that the proposed increase "might injuriously affect the rights and interests of the public."
