WASHINGTON, April 18 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), has announced the repatriation of 984 cultural items, including ceramic vessel fragments, stone tools, and faunal bones, to the Cherokee Nation, Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, and the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma.
These items, which were removed from a site in the Qualla Boundary, North Carolina, between 1935 and 1936, are considered unassociated funerary . . .
