WASHINGTON, April 5 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed approval of Pennsylvania's request to redesignate the Liberty-Clairton area in Allegheny County to attainment for two federal fine particulate matter (PM2.5) standards, citing improved air quality in the region.

Under the proposed rule published April 7, the agency determined that the Liberty-Clairton area meets the national ambient air quality standards for the 1997 annual and 2006 24-h . . .
