ST. PAUL, Minnesota, Nov. 1 -- Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minnesota, issued the following proclamation:

WHEREAS: Minnesota is home to a large and growing community of over 52,000 residents of South Asian ancestry, including 50,000 Hindu practitioners; and
WHEREAS: Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is the largest and most anticipated holiday in Hindu tradition, celebrated on the fifteenth day of the Hindu lunisolar month of Kartik; and
