CAMARILLO, California, Oct. 22 -- The California State University Channel Islands campus issued the following news release:

The Ventura County NAACP recently presented CSU Channel Islands (CSUCI) President Richard Yao with their Community Empowerment Corporate Award in recognition of his commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and more.

Yao accepted the award on behalf of the University at the local NAACP's Annual Freedom Fund Award Banquet, held on Oct. 12.
