ABINGDON, Virginia, Oct. 17 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia issued the following news release on Oct. 16, 2024:
Six defendants indicted in May 2024 for conspiring to defraud the United States, to commit program fraud, and to commit mail fraud in connection to a scheme involving the filing of fraudulent claims for pandemic unemployment benefits, pled guilty yesterday in federal court.
