ST. PAUL, Minnesota, Oct. 15 -- Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minnesota, issued the following proclamation:

WHEREAS: The state of Minnesota is located on ancestral and contemporary lands that have been called home by Indigenous peoples since time immemorial; and
WHEREAS: There is a rich Native American history going back 10,000 years that includes the Dakota, Ojibwe, Ho-Chunk, Oto, Hidatsa, Arikara, A'aninin, Cree, Blackfeet, Assiniboine, and the Sac and Fox Tribe . . .
