ALBANY, New York, Oct. 11 -- The New York State Department of Health issued the following statement on Oct. 9, 2024, by Commissioner James McDonald:

"The New York State Department of Health is working closely with our federal partners to monitor a potential shortage of intravenous (IV) fluid in New York State as a result of the impact of hurricane Helene. Storm damage has forced the closure of the Baxter plant in Marion, North Carolina, which supplies upwards . . .
