MACON, Georgia, Oct. 2 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia posted the following news release on Oct. 1, 2024:
The Justice Department announced today its findings that conditions of confinement in Georgia's prisons violate the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution.
"We hope these findings are a wake-up call. Incarcerated people and staff in the Georgia Department of Corrections face unacceptable, systemic risks, and the impact affect . . .
