WASHINGTON, Sept. 20 -- Rep. Andrea Salinas, D-Oregon, issued the following news release:
"We are once again staring down a government shutdown because of Speaker Johnson and his conference's incompetence and refusal to govern. Instead of coming to the table with a serious proposal that would keep the government funded, Republicans have chosen to include poison pills, such as needless restrictions that would make it harder for deployed servicemembers and other American citizens . . .
