JACKSON, Mississippi, Sept. 20 -- Jackson Public Schools issued the following news on Sept. 19, 2024:
Jackson Public Schools has been awarded a COPS (Community Oriented Policing Services) Hiring Grant in the amount of $515,776.
JPS will strategically execute the grant over the next five years. Specifically, the District's Office of Campus Enforcement will expand its workforce with the addition of more sworn officers. Each COPS hire will be assigned a quadrant of the sch . . .
