LANSING, Michigan, Sept. 20 -- Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, D-Michigan, issued the following news release on Sept. 19, 2024:

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags within the State Capitol Complex and upon all public buildings and grounds across the state of Michigan to be lowered to half-staff on Friday, September 20, 2024, to honor the life and service of Motor Carrier Officer Daniel M. Kerstetter, who passed away in the line of duty.
