Oklahoma Policy Institute: Statement - SQ 832 Election Date is Longest Delay for a State Question in Past 10 Years

TULSA, Oklahoma, Sept. 12 -- The Oklahoma Policy Institute, a policy think-tank, issued the following statement on Sept. 11, 2024:

Oklahoma's governor this week set a June 2026 election date for a special election on raising the state's minimum wage (https://www.sos.ok.gov/documents/executive/2126.pdf). The 21-month span between the governor announcing the election date and the election itself is more than six times longer than the median time for all other state question elections . . .
