LAS VEGAS, Nevada, Sept. 7 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada issued the following news release on Sept. 6, 2024:

A federal jury convicted a Nevada man Wednesday for defrauding three banks of more than $11.2 million in COVID-19 pandemic relief funds intended to help small businesses impacted by the pandemic.

According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Meelad Dezfooli, 30, of Henderson, engaged in a scheme to submit fraudulent . . .
