Cassidy Announces $14.8 Million for St. Bernard Parish in Flood Mitigation

WASHINGTON, Aug. 28 -- Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-Louisiana, issued the following news release:
Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced St. Bernard Parish will receive $14,844,923.25 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for Phase III of the Lake Lery Marsh Creation and Rim Restoration Project. The federal funding will establish a lake rim along the northern perimeter of the project area and restore 401.2 acres of broken marsh to protect against future flooding events.
