ASHEVILLE, North Carolina, Aug. 17 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina issued the following news release on Aug. 16, 2024:
Ernest D. Pheasant, Sr., 47, an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI), pleaded guilty today to first-degree murder in Indian Country, announced Dena J.
