NORFOLK, Virginia, Aug. 7 -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals issued the following news release on Aug. 6, 2024:
Washington - Following a dramatic uptick in reported cases of police dogs used in law enforcement dying from overheating or in other horrific ways and handlers violently abusing their K-9 partners, PETA--which had long supported the use of K-9s--sent letters today to the D.C.-based National Troopers Coalition and Alexandria-based National Sheriffs' Association . . .
