JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas, Aug. 2 -- The U.S. Air Force Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland (16th Air Force) issued the following news:

The Department of Veterans Affairs announced the launch of the redesigned Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry on Aug. 1.

In response to extensive feedback from veterans and service members, VA's changes to the registry help to greatly reduce the burden of participation, said Terrence Hayes, a VA spokesperson.
