SALEM, Oregon, June 19 -- The Oregon State Legislature issued the following news release on June 17, 2024:

Today, the Oregon Senate Democratic Caucus elected Sen. Kathleen Taylor (SE Portland, Milwaukie & Oak Grove) as the new Senate Majority Leader. Sen. Taylor is replacing Sen. Kate Lieber (D - Beaverton & SW Portland) who is taking on a new role as co-chair of the Joint Committee on Ways and Means.
