ST. PAUL, Minnesota, May 29 -- The Minnesota Historical Society issued the following news release on May 28, 2024:
The Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) intends to repatriate the item known as the Mankato Hanging Rope (3333.H474) to the Prairie Island Indian Community under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, or NAGPRA.
