TRENTON, New Jersey, May 4 -- Gov. Phil Murphy, D-New Jersey, issued the following news release on May 3, 2024:
Governor Phil Murphy today issued a writ of election to fill the vacancy in the U.S. House of Representatives for New Jersey's 10th Congressional District created by the passing of Representative Donald M. Payne Jr. on April 24, 2024. The Governor's decision to issue a writ of election for the unexpired portion of the term ending on January 3, 2025 is required by N.J.S.A. . . .
