NEWARK, New Jersey, April 25 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey issued the following news release on April 24, 2024:

Two men have been charged in connection with their roles in a large-scale mortgage fraud scheme, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced today.

Christopher J. Gallo, 44, of Old Tappan, New Jersey, and Mehmet A. Elmas, 32, a U.S. citizen who resides in Turkey, are charged by complaint with one count of conspiracy to commi . . .
