ANN ARBOR, Michigan, March 22 -- The University of Michigan issued the following news:
Crystal James has been named police chief of the University of Michigan Police Department, making her the first Black person to hold the position on the Ann Arbor campus in the department's 35-year history, and the first woman chief on any of the university's three campuses.
James, who also served as deputy chief on the Dearborn campus, has filled the chief's role on an interim basis . . .
