STUART, Florida, Feb. 15 -- Rep. Brian Mast, R-Florida, issued the following news release on Feb. 14, 2024:
U.S. Congressman Brian Mast (FL-21) today demanded answers from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on their announcement that discharges to the St. Lucie Estuary will begin this week.
"My concern stems from the current management of the lake, which has kept Lake Okeechobee artificially high during dry periods to benefit the sugar industry at the expense . . .
