WASHINGTON, Feb. 2 -- The Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued the following news release on Feb. 1, 2024:

Staff from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a meeting in Port Lavaca, Texas, on Feb. 15 to discuss the agency's process for licensing nuclear power plants.

The NRC is preparing for X-energy and The Dow Chemical Company to apply for a construction permit for a proposed multi-unit advanced reactor facility at Dow's Seadrift site in Calhoun County.
