HOUSTON, Texas, Jan. 20 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas issued the following news release:
Hilcorp San Juan L.P., an oil and gas company with offices in Houston as well as Aztec, New Mexico, has agreed to resolve allegations it knowingly underpaid royalties owed on oil and natural gas produced from federal lands. The company has agreed to pay $34.6 million to resolve its False Claims Act and other liability for the conduct.
