WASHINGTON, Nov. 8 -- Sen. Deb Fischer, R-Nebraska, issued the following news release on Nov. 7, 2023:
This week, U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) led the introduction of the Winnebago Land Transfer Act. The legislation would transfer approximately 1,600 acres of land back to the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska that were illegally seized in the 1970s by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a proposed recreation project that was never started.
