ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Oct. 14 -- The Cook Inlet Tribal Council issued the following announcement on Oct. 13, 2023:
In 2017, the Clare Swan Early Learning Center made history by establishing Anchorage's first early childhood Yup'ik immersion class. Since then, through partnership with College Gate Elementary, Yup'ik immersion has expanded beyond head start and kindergarten through fifth grade.
