GROTON, Connecticut, Oct. 14 -- The U.S. Navy's Chief of Naval Operations issued the following directive:

The Navy will commission the newest Virginia-class fast-attack submarine, the future USS Hyman G. Rickover (SSN 795), during a 10 a.m. EST ceremony Saturday, Oct. 14, at Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Connecticut.
