WASHINGTON, Oct. 13 -- The U.S. Navy's Chief of Naval Operations issued the following directive:
Rear Adm. Christopher Alexander, commander, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) Nine relieved Capt. Danielle DeFant as commanding officer of the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG 70), Oct. 12, 2023, due to a loss of confidence in her ability to command.
