WASHINGTON, May 19 -- Rep. John James, R-Michigan, issued the following news release:
Rep. John James voted in favor of three bills honoring National Police Week.
* H.R. 2494 - The POLICE Act makes the country safer by ensuring non-citizens who assault law enforcement officers can be deported from the United States. According to federal statistics, more than 43,000 law enforcement officers were assaulted in 2021 - an 11.2% increase from 2020.
