WASHINGTON, April 5 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has designated two new automated air monitoring methods as equivalent for measuring fine (PM2.5) and coarse (PM10-2.5) particulate matter concentrations in ambient air. The decision, announced in a notice published in the Federal Register on April 7, 2025 (90 FR 15001), follows a technical evaluation under the Clean Air Act regulations and is aimed at enhancing state and local air quality monitoring networks nationwide.
