Maine PUC Rejects All Bids for Contaminated Land Clean Energy Project, Plans New Solicitation
AUGUSTA, Maine, April 5 -- The Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has determined that none of the proposals submitted in its first round of solicitation for energy and renewable energy credits (RECs) aimed at promoting the reuse of contaminated land met the necessary ratepayer beneficial standard. As a result, the Commission announced in an order dated April 4, 2025, that it cannot award any contracts under this initial procurement effort mandated by 35-A M.R.S. Sec. 3210-J.
