BLM awards $25 million to accelerate wild horse and burro training and adoptions
WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management issued the following news release: The Bureau of Land Management today announced the launch of five new public-private partnership agreements designed to place wild horses and burros into private care. New Method Provides Reliable Estimates for Bearded Seals
WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 -- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued the following news: Scientists are using samples from subsistence-harvested bearded seals to establish kin relationships (parent-offspring, siblings) and to produce population estimates. In its first application in Alaska, researchers are using close-kin mark-recapture methods to estimate the size of the bearded seal population.
