Minn. Health Dept.: Public Hearing Set for Oct. 28 on Mayo Clinic Health System-Fairmont Closure of Surgical, Labor, Delivery, Pediatric Care Units
ST. PAUL, Minnesota, Oct. 15 -- The Minnesota Department of Health issued the following news release on Oct. 14, 2024:
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) will hold a public hearing on Monday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. on Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS)-Fairmont's closure of its inpatient obstetrical care, inpatient pediatric care and surgical procedures units.
According to the filed submission, MCHS will be consolidating and relocating these services to its Mankato campus.

Minn. Office of Higher Education Awards Over $400,000 to Address Food Insecurity on College Campuses
ST. PAUL, Minnesota, Oct. 15 -- The Minnesota Office of Higher Education issued the following news release on Oct. 14, 2024:
In an effort to address food insecurity at Minnesota colleges, the Office of Higher Education (OHE) has awarded 24 campuses with Hunger Free Campus grants, totaling over $400,000. Grants were awarded to both public and private schools across the state.
