KU Debate Wins First Major Championship of the Season at Northwestern University
LAWRENCE, Kansas, Sept. 19 -- The University of Kansas issued the following news:
The University of Kansas Debate squad began the season with a dominating performance at the Owen L. Coon Memorial Debate Tournament at Northwestern University, which took place Sept. 14-17. The KU team of John Marshall, Lawrence, and Graham Revare, Prairie Village, defeated Emory University in the championship debate to win the tournament from a field of more than 100 of the top teams in the country.

UNC Board of Governors Appoints Susan Strum to WCU Board of Trustees
CULLOWHEE, North Carolina, Sept. 17 -- Western Carolina University issued the following news:

Western Carolina University alumna Susan Strum has been appointed to WCU's Board of Trustees.
The University of North Carolina Board of Governors appointed Strum at its Sept. 12 meeting to fill the vacant term left by Kathryn Greeley, who was appointed to the UNC Board of Governors in June.
Strum's appointment was effective immediately and will go through June 30, 2025.
