WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 -- The White House issued the following news release on Sept. 20, 2024: Today, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. declared that a major disaster exists in the State of Illinois and ordered Federal assistance to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and flooding from July 13 to July 16, 2024.
