WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency issued the following news release:
Cape Girardeau, MO Missourians in the counties of Barry, Butler, Carter, Howell, New Madrid, Ripley, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard and Texas who were impacted by the severe weather and flooding from May 19 27 have until Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, to apply with FEMA for assistance to support their disaster recovery.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Missouri, Sept. 14 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri issued the following news release on Sept. 13, 2024:
U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Clark on Friday sentenced a man responsible for one fatal and one non-fatal shooting in Hayti, Missouri in 2023 to 25 years in prison.
