Jennifer Jones Named 2025 Missouri Teacher of the Year
JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri, Sept. 13 -- The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education issued the following news release:
Jennifer Jones, an English teacher at Lee's Summit West High School in the Lee's Summit R-VII School District, was selected by a committee of her peers and education partners across the state as the 2025 Missouri Teacher of the Year. She becomes the 56th Missouri Teacher of the Year since the program's inception in 1957.
Jones earned her Bachelor of Arts degree

ST. PAUL, Minnesota, Sept. 12 -- The Minnesota Department of Agriculture issued the following news:
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) has confirmed emerald ash borer (EAB) in Jackson County for the first time. There are now 53 counties in the state, including Jackson, with EAB. EAB has also been confirmed in a new location in Lake County, expanding the original quarantine area.
