Hickory Hollow Jerky Recalls Ready-To-Eat Jerky Products Produced Without Benefit of Inspection
WASHINGTON, Aug. 30 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service issued the following recall alert:
Hickory Hollow Jerky, a Eufaula, Ala., establishment, is recalling approximately 6,229 pounds of ready-to-eat jerky products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

Texas A.G. Paxton Announces 30-State Settlement to End Interstate Unclaimed Property Litigation
AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 31 -- Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton issued the following news release:
Texas, along with a bipartisan coalition of 29 other states, has reached a settlement ending the outstanding damages phase of an unclaimed property dispute before the U.S. Supreme Court. Texas and the other states will take possession of more than $190 million in unclaimed property.

University of Alabama in Huntsville opens new AFROTC program
RANDOLPH AFB, Texas, Aug. 29 -- The U.S. Air Force Air Education and Training Command issued the following news:
The Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps opened a new extension at the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Aug. 29, 2024.
This new location is one of only four AFROTC operating locations, and it is set to train and develop future U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force leaders. UAH's program is an independent element under AFROTC Detachment 012 located at Samford University.
