WASHINGTON, Jan. 10 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency issued the following news release dated Jan. 11, 2024:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency will be sending more than $1.4 million to the State of Rhode Island to reimburse Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital for the cost of paying its staff overtime to deal with the surge in patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. declared that a major disaster exists in the State of Rhode Island and ordered Federal assistance to supplement state, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes from September 10 to September 13, 2023.
