Iowa Education Dept.: Students First ESA Applications Approved in 96 of Iowa's 99 Counties
DES MOINES, Iowa, Aug. 8 -- The Iowa Department of Education issued the following news release on Aug. 7, 2023:
Today, the Iowa Department of Education announced that 18,627 Students First education savings accounts (ESAs) have been approved as of August 4. Less than 1,000 applications remain in review while parents or guardians provide additional information or documentation to confirm eligibility.

Mich. Environment Dept. Awards Funding to Four New Housing Developments Across Michigan
LANSING, Michigan, Aug. 8 -- The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy issued the following news release:
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is awarding brownfield redevelopment funding to new housing developments in Coldwater, Jackson, Kalamazoo, and Plymouth Township. The combined $3.38 million in state funding is expected to draw more than $76 million in capital investment and help create 274 affordable and workforce housing units.
