Center for Biological Diversity: Lawsuit Aims to Protect 20 Threatened Coral Species in Caribbean, Indo-Pacific
HONOLULU, Hawaii, July 27 -- The Center for Biological Diversity issued the following news release:
The Center for Biological Diversity sued the National Marine Fisheries Service today for failing to protect 20 coral species in the Caribbean and Indo-Pacific. The corals all received Endangered Species Act listings in 2014 but not protections offered by the law, including prohibitions on collection and sale.

Hawaii Supreme Court Justice Sabrina S. McKenna to Receive 2023 ABA Margaret Brent Award
CHICAGO, Illinois, July 29 -- The American Bar Association issued the following news release:
Hon. Sabrina Shizue McKenna, associate justice of the Supreme Court of the State of Hawaii, is a recipient of the 2023 Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award.
McKenna will receive the award, given annually by the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession, at a ceremony and reception at 3-5:30 p.m. MDT on Sunday, August 6, at the Hyatt Regency Denver during the 2023 ABA Annual Meeting.
