Center for Biological Diversity: Threatened Idaho Plant Finally Receives Critical Habitat
BOISE, Idaho, May 5 (TNSgov) -- The Center for Biological Diversity issued the following news release on May 3, 2023:
Following litigation by the Center for Biological Diversity, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service designated critical habitat today for the slickspot peppergrass, an Idaho plant that's protected as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. The agency's final rule sets aside 78,009 acres in Ada, Elmore, Gem, Payette and Owyhee counties.

Meggan Manlove Elected Bishop of the ELCA Northwest Intermountain Synod
CHICAGO, Illinois, May 3 (TNSper) -- The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America issued the following news release:
The Rev. Meggan H. Manlove, Nampa, Idaho, was elected April 29 to serve a six-year term as bishop of the Northwest Intermountain Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The election took place during the synod assembly, April 28-30, at the Red Lion Airport Hotel and Conference Center in Pasco, Wash.
Manlove was elected on the fourth ballot, with 141 votes to 68
