ST. PAUL, Minnesota, Aug. 16 -- Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minnesota, issued the following proclamation:
WHEREAS: India celebrates its 77th year of sovereignty on August 15, 2024, commemorating the date the nation won independence from the British in 1947; and
WHEREAS: India is the largest democracy in the world, home to nearly one-fifth of the world's population, with extraordinary diversity and rich cultural heritage; and
