WASHINGTON, June 20 -- Rep. Brad Finstad, R-Minnesota, issued the following news release:

Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) and Congresswoman Angie Craig (MN-02) have introduced legislation that would designate the bald eagle as the national bird of the United States.

Native to North America, the bald eagle has been featured on the Great Seal of the United States since 1782, yet no species is currently recognized as the official national bird.
