LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas, Nov. 14 -- Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, R-Arkansas, issued the following news release on Nov. 13, 2024:
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced the following appointment:
Brandon Carter, Springdale, as Prosecuting Attorney for the Fourth Judicial District, which is composed of Madison and Washington Counties.
Term expires on December 31, 2026.
Replaces the honorable Matt Durrett.

UAMS Center for Addiction Services Employs New Technology to Treat Opioid Addiction
LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas, Nov. 14 -- The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences issued the following news release:
The drug methadone, commonly used to treat opioid addiction by detoxification and maintenance, requires daily visits to an outpatient clinic as well as countless counseling sessions and drug screenings. The intensive treatment also comes with a sense of stigma that can be more difficult to deal with than the actual therapy.
