Austin Orders Review of Wounded Knee Medals
WASHINGTON, July 24 -- The U.S. Department of Defense issued the following news:
Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III has directed the Defense Department to review the Medals of Honor awarded to approximately 20 soldiers for their actions during the December 1890 engagement at Wounded Knee Creek, South Dakota, to ensure no awardees were recognized for conduct inconsistent with the nation's highest military honor.

B-1B Accident Investigation Report Released
BARKSDALE AFB, Louisiana, July 27 (TNSres) -- The U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command issued the following news on July 26, 2024:
Air Force Global Strike Command announced the results of its accident investigation today into the Jan. 4 crash of a B-1B bomber at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota.
All four crew members, assigned to the 28th Bomb Wing, were able to eject from the aircraft during the crash. Two sustained injuries during the ejection sequence and were medically treated and released.
